With over a decade of experience serving on Christian school boards and two years on the Muscatine Christian Academy Launch Team/Board of Directors, Dave brings a deep commitment to Christian education. His career path began in the business sector, where he worked as a branch manager for a wholesale supplier in the South. A pivotal move to North Carolina led him to ministry, prompting him to pursue educational credentials and enter full-time pastoral work. Dave and his family relocated to Iowa in 2005, eventually settling in Muscatine in 2012. He has served as Pastor at Hillcrest since that time, with an original plan to remain until retirement. However, God redirected his path, and conversations at Hillcrest sparked a new calling to serve as principal. Passionate about partnering with families to develop students grounded in faith and purpose, Dave is dedicated to helping Muscatine Christian Academy flourish as a place where children grow into fully formed learners prepared for God’s unique plan for their lives.
Born and raised in Rock Falls, Illinois, Dr. Monica Rouse earned her bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University, her master's degree from Western Illinois University, and her Doctor of Education from Walden University. She brings more than 30 years of experience in education, including roles as a high school English teacher, middle and high school principal, and educational consultant with the Iowa Department of Education.
Dr. Rouse serves as an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for the Master of Science in Educational Leadership (Principal Preparation) program at Western Illinois University. Since Muscatine Christian Academy's inaugural year, she has supported the school through instructional coaching and administrative leadership support.
Her faith in Jesus Christ is the foundation of her life and work. Dr. Rouse believes Christian education provides the unique opportunity to integrate faith and learning, nurturing students academically, spiritually, and in Christlike character as they prepare to serve God and others.
