Though
educating a child is not affordable (the state of Iowa spends on average
$17,031 per student), we want quality, Christian education to be accessible to
any family who desires it for their children.
To that
end, we work hard to establish a robust Tuition Aid fund to assist the families
of Muscatine Christian Academy in meeting the portion of tuition costs that are
just out of reach for their family.
Any family is
eligible to apply for Tuition Aid. We use an aid assessment service through a
company called FACTS to process Tuition Aid requests. You must be enrolled for the next
school year before filling out the application online through FACTS. Instructions for application are included in the Enrollment Packet sent upon acceptance to MCA.
Educational Savings Accounts (ESAs) can be used at MCA
Educational
Savings Accounts (ESAs) were passed into law in the state of Iowa in 2023.
They
can be used for K-8th grade at MCA to cover tuition, fees and other
school expenses for families who are residents of Iowa.
Parents
who choose to enroll their eligible children in MCA will receive an amount
equal to the per pupil funding allocated to public school districts for the
same budget school year. The 2023-24 amount allocated was $7,635.
Any
student who was approved for an ESA in the 2023-2024 school year and remains
and Iowa resident, is automatically eligible for ESA funding in 2024-2025. For
an ESA to be funded, an annual application will still need to be submitted
through the Odyssey platform for the new school year.
