Before & After School Care Coordinator

The Before/After Care coordinator will supervise and assist students before and after school hours by planning engaging activities, providing academic support and ensuring a safe, caring environment for students.

This is a part time, seasonal position during school year, that is paid on an hourly basis, 

Required Spiritual Qualities:

It is required that the Before/After Care coordinator will …
- Acknowledge Christ as Savior and seek to live life as His disciple.
- Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God—our standard for faith and practice
- Believe and actively support the school’s Statement of Faith.
- Demonstrate a desire for spiritual growth as evidenced by his or her prayer life, Bible study, and spiritual outreach to others.
- Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40). This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for sexual conduct.
- Evidence of the fruit of the Spirit in dealing with people.
- Have a conviction that God has led him or her to work at a Christian School.
- Actively participate in a local Bible-believing church.

Required Professional Qualities
It is expected that the Before/After Care Supervisor will ….
- Be at least 21 years of age or older
- Must be CPR/First Aid certified (can be organized through MCA upon hiring)
- Possess a high school diploma or higher education degree.
- Possess evidence of other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the school superintendent.

- Recognize his or her own mistakes and take measures to correct them.
- Be a team player.
- Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste consistent with school policy

Spiritual Leadership
- Motivate students to accept God’s gift of salvation, and be a Christian witness and role model to them in order to help them grow in their faith.
- Reflect the purpose of the school, which is to develop students who desire to love God and others, and are academically prepared for God’s unique plan for their lives.

Job-specific Leadership
- Keep spaces neat and orderly
- Able to physically perform the following -
- Identify possible issues before they become problems - (safety concerns, rough play/bullying, disrespect of others, self, and space, etc)
- Quickly evaluate and remedy falls, bumps, and bruises - retrieve and apply band aid, sanitizer, or ice pack.
- Manage several situations at once and decide when to call a parent.
- Check students in and out of the program
- Plan simple activities or games for students to engage in during their time in the program
- Provide academic support if needed with homework assignments
- Ensure a safe, caring atmosphere for all students at all times
- Other duties as assigned
